NURTURING PARENTS TEACHER TRAINING
Schools , family support organisations and mindfulness teachers are recognising the need to teach mindfulness to parents as a way of supporting them with the stressful and important role of parenting.
Want to train to teach the Nurturing Parents Programme?
The programme teaches simple mindfulness practices and integrates practice with relevant theoretical concepts.
Parents attending the programme gain an understanding of;
The impact of stress and how stress interferes with our capacity for connection with our ourselves, our children and others.
How mindfulness practice enhances our capacity for connection.
Ways in which we can develop habits of self-nurture.
Nurturing Parents has been taught successfully in many differing family support contexts. For example;
Parents in stressful socio-economic situations
Parents of children with serious or life threatening illness
Parents of children with diabetes
It has been taught by trained staff in family support organisations e.g;
Action for children
What Parents Say about the Nurturing Parents course:
The Mindfulness course has enabled me to become “calmer” with my daughter as I can now take “everyday as it comes” which has helped me to manage her condition better. Mindfulness has given me the “opportunity to stop more” and notice “beautiful things”, like a rainbow and has enabled me to carve out time to “enjoy stuff”.
